微細なエネルギー
今日の毎日新聞に載っていました。
詩人の社会的役割とは何かという和合亮一さんの問いかけに、谷川俊太郎さんがこう答えている。
「非常に微細なエネルギーが人にある程度影響を与えるということを信ずるということじゃないでしょうか」
「非常に微細」「ある程度」といったこの慎ましい限定は、単なる謙虚の表明ではない。微力なものの力、微小であるがゆえの力といったものがあって、たぶんそれこそが詩の栄光なのだ。
〈・・・詩や詩人がもしも世の中の役に立つとしたら、ベストセラー小説みたいな売れ方をするとかではなくて、知らない間にその人にちょこっとでも何らかの作用を与えるかもしれない言葉を紡いでゆく、その微細な力を信じる、信じさせるということじゃないでしょうか〉
