ひとよ茸ランプ
キノコをモチーフにした芸術作品といえば、エミール・ガレのひとよ茸ランプを思い浮かべる方が多いのではないでしょうか。また、ガレといえばキノコの人、という印象を持つ方も多いと思います。キノコといえばガレ、ガレといえばキノコです。そのきのこが避けては通ることのできないトピックの一つです。
さて、ガラス工芸に革命を起こしたエミール・ガレ（Émile Gallé, 1846-1904）はアールヌーボーを代表する有名な作家です。そんな彼の工場の裏扉には「われわれの根源は森の奥にあり」と記されていたといいます。森の奥の土の中に生きるキノコをモチーフにした彼の晩年期の作品、ひとよ茸シリーズこそ彼の工芸家としての人生の集大成であったといえるのではないでしょうか。
ひとよたけさん（なんというハンドルネーム！）のブログの記事によると、
ガレはこのひとよ茸ランプを合計６個作ったそうなのですが、そのうち３個はすでに壊れてしまっていて、現存するのは世界に３つだけ。ガレがひとよ茸ランプを作ったのは亡くなる２年前。そのとき彼は白血病を病んでいて、自分の余命がそれほど長くはないと感じていたようです。そんなとき、彼が作品のモチーフとして選んだのが、ひとよたけでした。新しく生まれ、その日のうちにぐんぐん成長したかと思うと、次の朝には溶けて無くなってしまうひとよたけ。しかし、その溶けたキノコの横にはまた別の新しいいのちが生まれている。ガレはそんなふうに消滅と再生をくりかえすひとよたけの姿を見て、そこに生命のはかなさと力強さを感じたといいます。ひとよ茸ランプは、ひとよたけの成長を３段階に分けて表現しています。生まれたばかりの姿、成長過程の姿、そして傘が開ききり、溶けかかっている姿です。
なんですって。ひとよたけさんが学芸員さんの話を何度も聞いて耳で覚えてしまったというエピソードも素敵ですね。
そして、写真はその３つの現存するランプです。上から順に、諏訪の北澤美術館、東京のサントリー美術館、ガレの故郷であるフランスのナンシーにあるナンシー派美術館（Musée de l’Ecole de Nancy）に所蔵されているランプです。それぞれ柄の曲がり方や傘の開き具合は微妙に異なりますが、３つとも３段階の成長過程が表現されていますね。
北澤美術館の学芸課長である鈴木潔氏が著された「光の魔術師—エミール・ガレ」という本もあります。とりあえずショッピングカートにいれておきましょうね。

Hi, When visiting your web page I just seen some kind of weird letters all around the page, in case that it is important I just thought I would tell you. like Warning: Cannot modify footer information … and so on.
